On June 14 Indivisible Healdsburg and Climate Action Healdsburg are sponsoring a rally/protest on Healdsburg Avenue in the Mill District from Noon to 2:00 pm.  We will line both sides of Healdsburg Avenue to FIGHT BACK against authoritarian rule in this country. We gather to show our resolve, our solidarity and our strength. Come early or come later but Be There and bring a friend.

  •  We the people do not want to fund Trump's Birthday party with taxpayer dollars

    • Donald Trump’s birthday celebration is expected to cost millions of our tax dollars, all while Republicans cut Medicaid and SNAP and threaten Social Security.

    • We are united against kings

      • June 14, 2025 is the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. We celebrate this event and honor all who have bravely served is the U.S. Army. While we are proud of our military, the U.S. does not hold military parades as a show of strength.  We certainly will not celebrate Donald Trump along with the military being he cheated to avoid the military draft and shows the military no respect, even as president. Together, we will mobilize in huge numbers to reject this corruption and abuse of power—it’s in our DNA as a country.

    • They've gone too far

      • This is bigger than political disagreement. They’ve defied our courts, deported American citizens, disappeared people off the streets, and slashed our services—all while orchestrating a massive giveaway to their billionaire allies. Enough is enough. For anyone who thinks he’s gone too far, this movement is for you.

  • The Army’s birthday isn’t about parades or pageantry — it marks the beginning of America’s rejection of kings

    • On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress created the U.S. Army to stand up against a monarch who claimed absolute power. 250 years later, Donald Trump wants to twist that legacy into a personal celebration of himself. No way.

  • That’s why we say: No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

    • No Kings is about defending the ideals the veterans fought for. This country doesn’t belong to strongmen. It belongs to the people. The power of the people is stronger than the people in power.

Protest
Let your Voice be heard!
Be Loud!

Protests return to Healdsburg!

Saturday protests are back. During the first Trump administration Indivisible Healdsburg protested every Saturday on the Plaza until Covid changed our lives. We have resumed our Saturday protests at 11:00 to noon at the corner of Matheson and Healdsburg Ave. We will be there every Saturday fighting for Democracy. Resisting the takeover of our democracy is absolutely necessary NOW. We need your participation. Silence gives consent. Are you willing to silently let them take away your rights?

Peace protests have also returned to the plaza on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00pm. Peace protests originated in Healdsburg during the first Gulf War and the tradition remains strong.

Do Protests Matter? Ask Elon Musk!

We asked you to protest Tesla dealerships to show your displeasure with Elon Musk's DOGE project. Newsweek reports that Musk's net worth dropped by over $100 billion in 2025, largely due to Tesla's struggling stock price. While EV competition may account for some of the correction, it is clear to everyone that protesters made Tesla and Musk a pariah for savaging government programs.

We need you to join us. We need to hear your voice!

Let us know if you are organizing an event. We are a small group and we welcome collaboration with others.

Indivisible Healdsburg members supported Jobs with Justice on May 28th in the plaza to celebrate their successful mediation with Redwood Empire..

Postcards are Back!

CA-22 has now been designated as a lean Republican district after years of being a strongly Republican. According to the state registration data there are more registered Democrats than Republicans and nearly a quarter of voters registering independent. The district is now seen as a lean republican district rather than solid Republican.

Rep. David Valadao represents more Medicaid recipients (68% of CA-22 residents) than any other Member of Congress.  Last month the Democratic, independent, and progressive leaning voters were reminded that their representative voted for deep cuts to Medicaid. This month we will remind them of the increasing costs due to tariff increases.  Since this information may not be getting through to them via other media, postcards are important.  We are also asking voters to call Congressman Valadao’s office. (See Call 5 below.)
For those who are willing this is important pressure to put on the Congressman, and for those voters who will not call it is a way to at least make them think about other actions to take.
Please mail your postcards as you complete them. We would like them to go out by June 6, 2025 or as close to that date.
Please send your request for cards to Valerie White (vwhite@sonic.net) by June 4,2025.  The packets each contain 10 cards with stamps, addresses, instructions and script-short and to the point. The cost remains at $6.50 per packet. Valerie will let you know when they are ready and the pickup location.
Thanks for continuing to support democracy!

The Trump Administration has weaponized food tor the poor like never before. It started with denial of grants to USAID and then went after school lunch programs and continued to holding funds from not-for-profits that run food banks and is now targeting SNAP in the budget. The NY Times reports that the Trump Administration cut about $1 Billion dollars in federal aid to anti-hunger groups.

These actions result in food shortage at our local food bank. They need our help. The Healdsburg Food  Pantry has launched a campaign to raise $350,000 to offset anticipated expenses. The Healdsburg Food Pantry accepts all those identifiable as living or working in Healdsburg and Geyserville in need of nutritional support. The current Republican administration has weaponized access to food by its intended stripping of access to nutrition support programs. These actions coupled with harassment and legal and illegal deportations have resulted in qualified individuals declining to sign up for the programs fearing the consequences of being in the system. As a consequence of the above strategies agencies such as Corazon are now referring individuals and families to the food pantry. They see approximately 2,300 of your neighbors each month many of whom are gainfully employed non- immigrants as well as some immigrants in need of food. Hunger has no boundaries.

Bottom line is that need has increased and resources dramatically decreased. We are grateful for the dedicated workers at the Food Pantry trying to feed our needy neighbors. Food should not be scarce in an agricultural community. Consider helping The Food Pantry with a donation at this difficult time. Also drop off any garden excess. It will be very much appreciated.
